2 Thessalonians 3

WBT 1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have [free] course, and be glorified, even as [it is] with you; NIV 1 Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. WBT 2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all [men] have not faith. NIV 2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. WBT 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and keep [you] from evil. NIV 3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. WBT 4 And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. NIV 4 We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. WBT 5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. NIV 5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance. WBT 6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received from us. NIV 6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. WBT 7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; NIV 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, WBT 8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for naught; but wrought with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: NIV 8 nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. WBT 9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves a pattern to you to follow us. NIV 9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow. WBT 10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. NIV 10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." WBT 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busy-bodies. NIV 11 We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. WBT 12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. NIV 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. WBT 13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing. NIV 13 And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right. WBT 14 And if any man obeyeth not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. NIV 14 If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of him. Do not associate with him, in order that he may feel ashamed. WBT 15 Yet count [him] not as an enemy, but admonish [him] as a brother. NIV 15 Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. WBT 16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord [be] with you all. NIV 16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. WBT 17 The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. NIV 17 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write. WBT 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen. NIV 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
