2 Corinthians 12:3-13

NLT 3 Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know NIV 3 And I know that this man--whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows-- NLT 4 that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell. NIV 4 was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell. NLT 5 That experience is worth boasting about, but I’m not going to do it. I will boast only about my weaknesses. NIV 5 I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. NLT 6 If I wanted to boast, I would be no fool in doing so, because I would be telling the truth. But I won’t do it, because I don’t want anyone to give me credit beyond what they can see in my life or hear in my message, NIV 6 Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say. NLT 7 even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. NIV 7 To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. NLT 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. NIV 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. NLT 9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. NIV 9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. NLT 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. NIV 10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. NLT 11 You have made me act like a fool. You ought to be writing commendations for me, for I am not at all inferior to these “super apostles,” even though I am nothing at all. NIV 11 I have made a fool of myself, but you drove me to it. I ought to have been commended by you, for I am not in the least inferior to the "super-apostles," even though I am nothing. NLT 12 When I was with you, I certainly gave you proof that I am an apostle. For I patiently did many signs and wonders and miracles among you. NIV 12 The things that mark an apostle--signs, wonders and miracles--were done among you with great perseverance. NLT 13 The only thing I failed to do, which I do in the other churches, was to become a financial burden to you. Please forgive me for this wrong! NIV 13 How were you inferior to the other churches, except that I was never a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!
