2 Corinthians 6

DBY 1 But [as] fellow-workmen, we also beseech that ye receive not the grace of God in vain: NIV 1 As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. DBY 2 (for he says, I have listened to thee in an accepted time, and I have helped thee in a day of salvation: behold, now [is the] well-accepted time; behold, now [the] day of salvation:) NIV 2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. DBY 3 giving no manner of offence in anything, that the ministry be not blamed; NIV 3 We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. DBY 4 but in everything commending ourselves as God's ministers, in much endurance, in afflictions, in necessities, in straits, NIV 4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; DBY 5 in stripes, in prisons, in riots, in labours, in watchings, in fastings, NIV 5 in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; DBY 6 in pureness, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in kindness, in [the] Holy Spirit, in love unfeigned, NIV 6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; DBY 7 in [the] word of truth, in [the] power of God; through the arms of righteousness on the right hand and left, NIV 7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; DBY 8 through glory and dishonour, through evil report and good report: as deceivers, and true; NIV 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; DBY 9 as unknown, and well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as disciplined, and not put to death; NIV 9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; DBY 10 as grieved, but always rejoicing; as poor, but enriching many; as having nothing, and possessing all things. NIV 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. DBY 11 Our mouth is opened to you, Corinthians, our heart is expanded. NIV 11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you. DBY 12 Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your affections; NIV 12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. DBY 13 but for an answering recompense, (I speak as to children,) let *your* heart also expand itself. NIV 13 As a fair exchange--I speak as to my children--open wide your hearts also. DBY 14 Be not diversely yoked with unbelievers; for what participation [is there] between righteousness and lawlessness? or what fellowship of light with darkness? NIV 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? DBY 15 and what consent of Christ with Beliar, or what part for a believer along with an unbeliever? NIV 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? DBY 16 and what agreement of God's temple with idols? for *ye* are [the] living God's temple; according as God has said, I will dwell among them, and walk among [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be to me a people. NIV 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." DBY 17 Wherefore come out from the midst of them, and be separated, saith [the] Lord, and touch not [what is] unclean, and *I* will receive you; NIV 17 "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." DBY 18 and I will be to you for a Father, and ye shall be to me for sons and daughters, saith [the] Lord Almighty. NIV 18 "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
