2 Timothy 2:4-14

NRS 4 No one serving in the army gets entangled in everyday affairs; the soldier's aim is to please the enlisting officer. NIV 4 No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs--he wants to please his commanding officer. NRS 5 And in the case of an athlete, no one is crowned without competing according to the rules. NIV 5 Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules. NRS 14 Remind them of this, and warn them before God that they are to avoid wrangling over words, which does no good but only ruins those who are listening. NIV 14 Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.
