2 Timothy 4:1-6

DBY 1 I testify before God and Christ Jesus, who is about to judge living and dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom, NIV 1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: DBY 2 proclaim the word; be urgent in season [and] out of season, convict, rebuke, encourage, with all longsuffering and doctrine. NIV 2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. DBY 3 For the time shall be when they will not bear sound teaching; but according to their own lusts will heap up to themselves teachers, having an itching ear; NIV 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. DBY 4 and they will turn away their ear from the truth, and will have turned aside to fables. NIV 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. DBY 5 But *thou*, be sober in all things, bear evils, do [the] work of an evangelist, fill up the full measure of thy ministry. NIV 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. DBY 6 For *I* am already being poured out, and the time of my release is come. NIV 6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure.
