26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the <em>cross</em> {Gr. stauros – stake}, that he might bear <em>it</em> after Jesus.
26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.
