2 La esposa y los hijos de Oseas<br />Cuando el Señor<br /> le habló por primera vez a Israel por medio de Oseas, le dijo al profeta: «Ve y cásate con una prostituta,<br /> de modo que algunos de los hijos de ella sean concebidos en prostitución. Esto ilustrará cómo Israel se ha comportado como una prostituta, al volverse en contra del Señor<br /> y al rendir culto a otros dioses».

3 Así que Oseas se casó con Gomer, hija de Diblaim. Ella quedó embarazada y le dio un hijo.

4 Entonces el Señor<br /> dijo: «Ponle al niño por nombre Jezreel, porque estoy a punto de castigar a la dinastía del rey Jehú para vengar los asesinatos que cometió en Jezreel. De hecho, pondré fin a la independencia de Israel

5 y acabaré con su poderío militar en el valle de Jezreel».

6 Al poco tiempo, Gomer quedó embarazada otra vez y dio a luz una niña. Entonces el Señor<br /> le dijo a Oseas: «Ponle por nombre a tu hija Lo-ruhamá —“no amada”— porque ya no le demostraré amor al pueblo de Israel ni lo perdonaré;

7 pero sí le demostraré amor al pueblo de Judá. Lo libraré de sus enemigos, no con armas y ejércitos ni con caballos y jinetes, sino con mi poder como el Señor<br /> su Dios».

8 Después que Gomer destetó a Lo-ruhamá, quedó nuevamente embarazada y dio a luz un segundo hijo.

9 Entonces el Señor<br /> dijo: «Ponle por nombre Lo-ammí —“no es mi pueblo”— porque Israel no es mi pueblo y yo no soy su Dios.

10 »Sin embargo, llegará el día cuando el pueblo de Israel será como la arena a la orilla del mar, ¡imposible de contar! Así que en el lugar donde se les dijo: “Ustedes no son mi pueblo”, se dirá: “Ustedes son hijos del Dios viviente”.

11 Entonces los pueblos de Judá e Israel se unirán, elegirán un solo líder y regresarán juntos del destierro. Qué gran día será —el día de Jezreel<br />— cuando Dios plantará de nuevo a su pueblo en su tierra.

1 The word of the LORD that came to Hosea son of Beeri during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the reign of Jeroboam son of Jehoash king of Israel:

2 When the LORD began to speak through Hosea, the LORD said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the LORD.”

3 So he married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.

4 Then the LORD said to Hosea, “Call him Jezreel, because I will soon punish the house of Jehu for the massacre at Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.

5 In that day I will break Israel’s bow in the Valley of Jezreel.”

6 Gomer conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. Then the LORD said to Hosea, “Call her Lo-Ruhamah (which means “not loved”), for I will no longer show love to Israel, that I should at all forgive them.

7 Yet I will show love to Judah; and I will save them—not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but I, the LORD their God, will save them.”

8 After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, Gomer had another son.

9 Then the LORD said, “Call him Lo-Ammi (which means “not my people”), for you are not my people, and I am not your God.

10 “Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’

11 The people of Judah and the people of Israel will come together; they will appoint one leader and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.
