2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and there arose smoke out of the pit as <em>the</em> smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
