NRS 18 When they came to him, he said to them: "You yourselves know how I lived among you the entire time from the first day that I set foot in Asia, NIV 18 When they arrived, he said to them: "You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia. NRS 19 serving the Lord with all humility and with tears, enduring the trials that came to me through the plots of the Jews. NIV 19 I served the Lord with great humility and with tears, although I was severely tested by the plots of the Jews. NRS 20 I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house, NIV 20 You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. NRS 21 as I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus. NIV 21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus. NRS 22 And now, as a captive to the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, NIV 22 "And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. NRS 23 except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and persecutions are waiting for me. NIV 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. NRS 24 But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace. NIV 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. NRS 25 "And now I know that none of you, among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom, will ever see my face again. NIV 25 "Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again. NRS 26 Therefore I declare to you this day that I am not responsible for the blood of any of you, NIV 26 Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of all men. NRS 27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God. NIV 27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. NRS 28 Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock, of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son. NIV 28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. NRS 29 I know that after I have gone, savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. NIV 29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. NRS 30 Some even from your own group will come distorting the truth in order to entice the disciples to follow them. NIV 30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. NRS 31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to warn everyone with tears. NIV 31 So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. NRS 32 And now I commend you to God and to the message of his grace, a message that is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all who are sanctified. NIV 32 "Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. NRS 33 I coveted no one's silver or gold or clothing. NIV 33 I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing. NRS 34 You know for yourselves that I worked with my own hands to support myself and my companions. NIV 34 You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. NRS 35 In all this I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " NIV 35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
