Acts 3:12-26

NAS 12 But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? NIV 12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? NAS 13 "The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. NIV 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. NAS 14 "But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, NIV 14 You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. NAS 15 but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses. NIV 15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. NAS 16 "And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all. NIV 16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see. NAS 17 "And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also. NIV 17 "Now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. NAS 18 "But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. NIV 18 But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Christ would suffer. NAS 19 "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord ; NIV 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, NAS 20 and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, NIV 20 and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you--even Jesus. NAS 21 whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. NIV 21 He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. NAS 22 "Moses said, 'THE LORD GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR BRETHREN; TO HIM YOU SHALL GIVE HEED to everything He says to you. NIV 22 For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. NAS 23 'And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.' NIV 23 Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.' NAS 24 "And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and his successors onward, also announced these days. NIV 24 "Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days. NAS 25 "It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.' NIV 25 And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.' NAS 26 "For you first, God raised up His Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways." NIV 26 When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways."
