Ephesians 3

ASV 1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles,-- NIV 1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles-- ASV 2 if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you-ward; NIV 2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God's grace that was given to me for you, ASV 3 how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words, NIV 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. ASV 4 whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; NIV 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, ASV 5 which in other generation was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; NIV 5 which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets. ASV 6 [to wit], that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, NIV 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. ASV 7 whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. NIV 7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power. ASV 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; NIV 8 Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, ASV 9 and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things; NIV 9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. ASV 10 to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly [places] might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God, NIV 10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, ASV 11 according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: NIV 11 according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. ASV 12 in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. NIV 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. ASV 13 Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory. NIV 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory. ASV 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father, NIV 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, ASV 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, NIV 15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. ASV 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; NIV 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, ASV 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, NIV 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, ASV 18 may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, NIV 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, ASV 19 and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God. NIV 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. ASV 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, NIV 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, ASV 21 unto him [be] the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen. NIV 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
