Ephesians 5:20-30

ASV 20 giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; NIV 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ASV 21 subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ. NIV 21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. ASV 22 Wives, [be in subjection] unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. NIV 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. ASV 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the church, [being] himself the saviour of the body. NIV 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. ASV 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives also [be] to their husbands in everything. NIV 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. ASV 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; NIV 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her ASV 26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, NIV 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, ASV 27 that he might present the church to himself a glorious [church], not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. NIV 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. ASV 28 Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself: NIV 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. ASV 29 for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church; NIV 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- ASV 30 because we are members of his body. NIV 30 for we are members of his body.
