Ephesians 5:20-30

DBY 20 giving thanks at all times for all things to him [who is] God and [the] Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, NIV 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. DBY 21 submitting yourselves to one another in [the] fear of Christ. NIV 21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. DBY 22 Wives, [submit yourselves] to your own husbands, as to the Lord, NIV 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. DBY 23 for a husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly. *He* [is] Saviour of the body. NIV 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. DBY 24 But even as the assembly is subjected to the Christ, so also wives to their own husbands in everything. NIV 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. DBY 25 Husbands, love your own wives, even as the Christ also loved the assembly, and has delivered himself up for it, NIV 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her DBY 26 in order that he might sanctify it, purifying [it] by the washing of water by [the] word, NIV 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, DBY 27 that *he* might present the assembly to himself glorious, having no spot, or wrinkle, or any of such things; but that it might be holy and blameless. NIV 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. DBY 28 So ought men also to love their own wives as their own bodies: he that loves his own wife loves himself. NIV 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. DBY 29 For no one has ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Christ the assembly: NIV 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- DBY 30 for we are members of his body; [we are of his flesh, and of his bones.] NIV 30 for we are members of his body.
