Ephesians 5:25-33

LEB 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for her; NIV 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her LEB 26 in order that he might sanctify her by cleansing [her] with the washing of water by the word; NIV 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, LEB 27 in order that he might present to himself the church glorious, not having a spot or wrinkle or any such [thing], but that she may be holy and blameless. NIV 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. LEB 28 Thus also husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. The one who loves his own wife loves himself. NIV 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. LEB 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as also Christ [does] the church, NIV 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- LEB 30 because we are members of his body. NIV 30 for we are members of his body. LEB 31 "For this [reason] a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." NIV 31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." LEB 32 (This mystery is great, but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.) NIV 32 This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church. LEB 33 Only you also, each one [of you], must thus love his own wife as himself, and the wife {must respect} her husband. NIV 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
