Ephesians 6

ESV 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. NIV 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ESV 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, NIV 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. ESV 6 not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, NIV 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. ESV 7 rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, NIV 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, ESV 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. NIV 8 because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free. ESV 9 Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him. NIV 9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him. ESV 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. NIV 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ESV 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. NIV 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. ESV 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. NIV 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ESV 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. NIV 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ESV 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, NIV 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ESV 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. NIV 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ESV 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; NIV 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ESV 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, NIV 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ESV 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, NIV 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. ESV 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, NIV 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, ESV 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. NIV 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. ESV 21 So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything. NIV 21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing. ESV 22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts. NIV 22 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you. ESV 23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. NIV 23 Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ESV 24 Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible. NIV 24 Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
