Exodus 25

CSB 1 The Lord spoke to Moses: NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, CSB 2 "Tell the Israelites to take an offering for Me. You are to take My offering from everyone whose heart stirs him [to give]. NIV 2 "Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give. CSB 3 This is the offering you are to receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze; NIV 3 These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; CSB 4 blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; NIV 4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; CSB 5 ram skins dyed red and manatee skins; acacia wood; NIV 5 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; CSB 6 oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; NIV 6 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; CSB 7 and onyx along with [other] gemstones for mounting on the ephod and breastpiece. NIV 7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. CSB 8 "They are to make a sanctuary for Me so that I may dwell among them. NIV 8 "Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. CSB 9 You must make [it] according to all that I show you-the design of the tabernacle as well as the design of all its furnishings." NIV 9 Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you. CSB 10 "They are to make an ark of acacia wood, 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high. NIV 10 "Have them make a chest of acacia wood--two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. CSB 11 Overlay it with pure gold; overlay it both inside and out. Also make a gold molding all around it. NIV 11 Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. CSB 12 Cast four gold rings for it and place [them] on its four feet, two rings on one side and two rings on the other side. NIV 12 Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. CSB 13 Make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. NIV 13 Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. CSB 14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark in order to carry the ark with them. NIV 14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the chest to carry it. CSB 15 The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed from it. NIV 15 The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed. CSB 16 Put the [tablets of the] testimony that I will give you into the ark. NIV 16 Then put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. CSB 17 Make a mercy seat of pure gold, 45 inches long and 27 inches wide. NIV 17 "Make an atonement cover of pure gold--two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. CSB 18 Make two cherubim of gold; make them of hammered work at the two ends of the mercy seat. NIV 18 And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. CSB 19 Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. Make the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat at its two ends. NIV 19 Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. CSB 20 The cherubim are to have wings spread out above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and are to face one another. The faces of the cherubim should be toward the mercy seat. NIV 20 The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. CSB 21 Set the mercy seat on top of the ark and put the testimony that I will give you into the ark. NIV 21 Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. CSB 22 I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the testimony; I will speak with you from there about all that I command you regarding the Israelites. NIV 22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites. CSB 23 "You are to construct a table of acacia wood, 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 27 inches high. NIV 23 "Make a table of acacia wood--two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high. CSB 24 Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding all around it. NIV 24 Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it. CSB 25 Make a three-inch frame all around it and make a gold molding for it all around its frame. NIV 25 Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim. CSB 26 Make four gold rings for it, and attach the rings to the four corners at its four legs. NIV 26 Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are. CSB 27 The rings should be next to the frame as holders for the poles to carry the table. NIV 27 The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table. CSB 28 Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold so that the table can be carried by them. NIV 28 Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them. CSB 29 You are also to make its plates and cups, as well as its pitchers and bowls for pouring drink offerings. Make them out of pure gold. NIV 29 And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings. CSB 30 Put the bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times. NIV 30 Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times. CSB 31 "You are to make a lampstand out of pure, hammered gold. It is to be made of one piece: its base and shaft, its [ornamental] cups, and its calyxes and petals. NIV 31 "Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it. CSB 32 Six branches are to extend from its sides, three branches of the lampstand from one side and three branches of the lampstand from the other side. NIV 32 Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand--three on one side and three on the other. CSB 33 There are to be three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with a calyx and petals, on the first branch, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with a calyx and petals, on the next branch. It is to be this way for the six branches that extend from the lampstand. NIV 33 Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand. CSB 34 There are to be four cups shaped like almond blossoms on the lampstand [shaft] along with its calyxes and petals. NIV 34 And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. CSB 35 For the six branches that extend from the lampstand, a calyx must be under the [first] pair of branches from it, a calyx under the [second] pair of branches from it, and a calyx under the [third] pair of branches from it. NIV 35 One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair--six branches in all. CSB 36 Their calyxes and branches are to be of one piece. All of it is to be a single hammered piece of pure gold. NIV 36 The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. CSB 37 "Make seven lamps on it. Its lamps are to be set up so they illuminate the area in front of it. NIV 37 "Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. CSB 38 Its snuffers and firepans must be of pure gold. NIV 38 Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. CSB 39 The lampstand with all these utensils is to be made from 75 pounds of pure gold. NIV 39 A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories. CSB 40 Be careful to make [everything] according to the model of them you have been shown on the mountain. NIV 40 See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
