NCV 1 The Lord said to Moses, NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, NCV 2 "Tell the Israelites to bring me gifts. Receive for me the gifts each person wants to give. NIV 2 "Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give. NCV 3 These are the gifts that you should receive from them: gold, silver, bronze; NIV 3 These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; NCV 4 blue, purple, and red thread; fine linen, goat hair, NIV 4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; NCV 5 sheepskins that are dyed red; fine leather; acacia wood; NIV 5 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; NCV 6 olive oil to burn in the lamps; spices for sweet-smelling incense, and the special olive oil poured on a person's head to make him a priest; NIV 6 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; NCV 7 onyx stones, and other jewels to be put on the holy vest and the chest covering. NIV 7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. NCV 8 "The people must build a holy place for me so that I can live among them. NIV 8 "Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. NCV 9 Build this Holy Tent and everything in it by the plan I will show you. NIV 9 Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you. NCV 10 "Use acacia wood and build an Ark forty-five inches long, twenty-seven inches wide, and twenty-seven inches high. NIV 10 "Have them make a chest of acacia wood--two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. NCV 11 Cover the Ark inside and out with pure gold, and put a gold strip all around it. NIV 11 Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. NCV 12 Make four gold rings for the Ark and attach them to its four feet, two rings on each side. NIV 12 Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. NCV 13 Then make poles from acacia wood and cover them with gold. NIV 13 Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. NCV 14 Put the poles through the rings on the sides of the Ark, and use these poles to carry it. NIV 14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the chest to carry it. NCV 15 These poles must always stay in the rings of the Ark. Do not take them out. NIV 15 The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed. NCV 16 Then put in the Ark the Agreement which I will make with you. NIV 16 Then put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. NCV 17 "Then make a lid of pure gold for the Ark; this is the mercy seat. Make it forty-five inches long and twenty-seven inches wide. NIV 17 "Make an atonement cover of pure gold--two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. NCV 18 Then hammer gold to make two creatures with wings, and put one on each end of the lid. NIV 18 And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. NCV 19 Attach one creature on one end of the lid and the other creature on the other end. Make them to be one piece with the lid at the ends. NIV 19 Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. NCV 20 The creatures' wings should be spread upward, covering the lid, and the creatures are to face each other across the lid. NIV 20 The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. NCV 21 Put this lid on top of the Ark, and put in the Ark the Agreement which I will make with you. NIV 21 Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. NCV 22 I will meet with you there, above the lid between the two winged creatures on the Ark of the Agreement. There I will give you all my commands for the Israelites. NIV 22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites. NCV 23 "Make a table out of acacia wood, thirty-six inches long, eighteen inches wide, and twenty-seven inches high. NIV 23 "Make a table of acacia wood--two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high. NCV 24 Cover it with pure gold, and put a gold strip around it. NIV 24 Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it. NCV 25 Make a frame three inches high that stands up all around the edge, and put a gold strip around it. NIV 25 Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim. NCV 26 Then make four gold rings. Attach them to the four corners of the table where the four legs are. NIV 26 Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are. NCV 27 Put the rings close to the frame around the top of the table, because they will hold the poles for carrying it. NIV 27 The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table. NCV 28 Make the poles out of acacia wood, cover them with gold, and carry the table with these poles. NIV 28 Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them. NCV 29 Make the plates and bowls for the table, as well as the jars and cups, out of pure gold. They will be used for pouring out the drink offerings. NIV 29 And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings. NCV 30 On this table put the bread that shows you are in my presence so that it is always there in front of me. NIV 30 Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times. NCV 31 "Hammer pure gold to make a lampstand. Its base, stand, flower-like cups, buds, and petals must all be joined together in one piece. NIV 31 "Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it. NCV 32 The lampstand must have six branches going out from its sides -- three on one side and three on the other. NIV 32 Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand--three on one side and three on the other. NCV 33 Each branch must have three cups shaped like almond flowers on it. Each cup must have a bud and a petal. Each of the six branches going out from the lampstand must be the same. NIV 33 Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand. NCV 34 And there must be four more cups made like almond flowers on the lampstand itself. These cups must also have buds and petals. NIV 34 And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. NCV 35 Put a bud under each pair of branches that goes out from the lampstand. Each of the six branches going out from the lampstand must be the same. NIV 35 One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair--six branches in all. NCV 36 The branches, buds, and lampstand must be made of one piece, hammered out of pure gold. NIV 36 The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. NCV 37 "Then make seven small oil lamps and put them on the lampstand so that they give light to the area in front of it. NIV 37 "Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. NCV 38 The wick trimmers and trays must be made of pure gold. NIV 38 Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. NCV 39 Use seventy-five pounds of pure gold to make the lampstand and everything with it. NIV 39 A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories. NCV 40 Be very careful to make them by the plan I showed you on the mountain. NIV 40 See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
