WEB 1 "You shall make an altar to burn incense on. You shall make it of acacia wood. NIV 1 "Make an altar of acacia wood for burning incense. WEB 2 Its length shall be a cubit, and its breadth a cubit. It shall be square, and its height shall be two cubits. Its horns shall be of one piece with it. NIV 2 It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high--its horns of one piece with it. WEB 3 You shall overlay it with pure gold, the top of it, the sides of it around it, and its horns; and you shall make a gold molding around it. NIV 3 Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it. WEB 4 You shall make two golden rings for it under its molding; on its two ribs, on its two sides you shall make them; and they shall be for places for poles with which to bear it. NIV 4 Make two gold rings for the altar below the molding--two on opposite sides--to hold the poles used to carry it. WEB 5 You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. NIV 5 Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. WEB 6 You shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you. NIV 6 Put the altar in front of the curtain that is before the ark of the Testimony--before the atonement cover that is over the Testimony--where I will meet with you. WEB 7 Aaron shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it. NIV 7 "Aaron must burn fragrant incense on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps. WEB 8 When Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn it, a perpetual incense before Yahweh throughout your generations. NIV 8 He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the LORD for the generations to come. WEB 9 You shall offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal-offering; and you shall pour no drink-offering on it. NIV 9 Do not offer on this altar any other incense or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it. WEB 10 Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once in the year; with the blood of the sin offering of atonement once in the year he shall make atonement for it throughout your generations. It is most holy to Yahweh." NIV 10 Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering for the generations to come. It is most holy to the LORD." WEB 11 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, NIV 11 Then the LORD said to Moses, WEB 12 "When you take a census of the children of Israel, according to those who are numbered among them, then each man shall give a ransom for his soul to Yahweh, when you number them; that there be no plague among them when you number them. NIV 12 "When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them. WEB 13 They shall give this, everyone who passes over to those who are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary; (the shekel is twenty gerahs;) half a shekel for an offering to Yahweh. NIV 13 Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD. WEB 14 Everyone who passes over to those who are numbered, from twenty years old and upward, shall give the offering to Yahweh. NIV 14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD. WEB 15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less, than the half shekel, when they give the offering of Yahweh, to make atonement for your souls. NIV 15 The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives. WEB 16 You shall take the atonement money from the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the tent of meeting; that it may be a memorial for the children of Israel before Yahweh, to make atonement for your souls." NIV 16 Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD, making atonement for your lives." WEB 17 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, NIV 17 Then the LORD said to Moses, WEB 18 "You shall also make a basin of brass, and the base of it of brass, in which to wash. You shall put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it. NIV 18 "Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it. WEB 19 Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet in it. NIV 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it. WEB 20 When they go into the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water, that they not die; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to Yahweh. NIV 20 Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting an offering made to the LORD by fire, WEB 21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they not die: and it shall be a statute forever to them, even to him and to his descendants throughout their generations." NIV 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come." WEB 22 Moreover Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, NIV 22 Then the LORD said to Moses, WEB 23 "Also take fine spices: of liquid myrrh, five hundred shekels; and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, even two hundred and fifty; and of fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty; NIV 23 "Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane, WEB 24 and of cassia five hundred, after the shekel of the sanctuary; and a hin of olive oil. NIV 24 500 shekels of cassia--all according to the sanctuary shekel--and a hin of olive oil. WEB 25 You shall make it a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil. NIV 25 Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil. WEB 26 You shall use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony, NIV 26 Then use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony, WEB 27 the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, NIV 27 the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, WEB 28 the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin with its base. NIV 28 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. WEB 29 You shall sanctify them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy. NIV 29 You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy. WEB 30 You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the priest's office. NIV 30 "Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests. WEB 31 You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations. NIV 31 Say to the Israelites, 'This is to be my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come. WEB 32 It shall not be poured on man's flesh, neither shall you make any like it, according to its composition: it is holy. It shall be holy to you. NIV 32 Do not pour it on men's bodies and do not make any oil with the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred. WEB 33 Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on a stranger, he shall be cut off from his people.'" NIV 33 Whoever makes perfume like it and whoever puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from his people.' " WEB 34 Yahweh said to Moses, "Take to yourself sweet spices, gum resin, and onycha, and galbanum; sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be an equal weight; NIV 34 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take fragrant spices--gum resin, onycha and galbanum--and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts, WEB 35 and you shall make incense of it, a perfume after the art of the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy: NIV 35 and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer. It is to be salted and pure and sacred. WEB 36 and you shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be to you most holy. NIV 36 Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you. WEB 37 The incense which you shall make, according to its composition you shall not make for yourselves: it shall be to you holy for Yahweh. NIV 37 Do not make any incense with this formula for yourselves; consider it holy to the LORD. WEB 38 Whoever shall make any like that, to smell of it, he shall be cut off from his people." NIV 38 Whoever makes any like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off from his people."
