NKJV 1 Then Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said to them, "These are the words which the Lord has commanded you to do: NIV 1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, "These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do: NKJV 2 Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh day shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. NIV 2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. NKJV 3 You shall kindle no fire throughout your dwellings on the Sabbath day." NIV 3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day." NKJV 4 And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, "This is the thing which the Lord commanded, saying: NIV 4 Moses said to the whole Israelite community, "This is what the LORD has commanded: NKJV 5 'Take from among you an offering to the Lord. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as an offering to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze; NIV 5 From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze; NKJV 6 blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats' hair; NIV 6 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; NKJV 7 ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood; NIV 7 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; NKJV 8 oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense; NIV 8 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; NKJV 9 onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate. NKJV 10 'All who are gifted artisans among you shall come and make all that the Lord has commanded: NIV 10 "All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the LORD has commanded: NKJV 11 the tabernacle, its tent, its covering, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets; NIV 11 the tabernacle with its tent and its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases; NKJV 12 the ark and its poles, with the mercy seat, and the veil of the covering; NIV 12 the ark with its poles and the atonement cover and the curtain that shields it; NKJV 13 the table and its poles, all its utensils, and the showbread; NIV 13 the table with its poles and all its articles and the bread of the Presence; NKJV 14 also the lampstand for the light, its utensils, its lamps, and the oil for the light; NIV 14 the lampstand that is for light with its accessories, lamps and oil for the light; NKJV 15 the incense altar, its poles, the anointing oil, the sweet incense, and the screen for the door at the entrance of the tabernacle; NIV 15 the altar of incense with its poles, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle; NKJV 16 the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles, all its utensils, and the laver and its base; NIV 16 the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the bronze basin with its stand; NKJV 17 the hangings of the court, its pillars, their sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court; NIV 17 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; NKJV 18 the pegs of the tabernacle, the pegs of the court, and their cords; NIV 18 the tent pegs for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, and their ropes; NKJV 19 the garments of ministry, for ministering in the holy place--the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests.' " NIV 19 the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary--both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests." NKJV 20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. NIV 20 Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses' presence, NKJV 21 Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and they brought the Lord's offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments. NIV 21 and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments. NKJV 22 They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heart, and brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewelry of gold, that is, every man who made an offering of gold to the Lord. NIV 22 All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD. NKJV 23 And every man, with whom was found blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats' hair, red skins of rams, and badger skins, brought them. NIV 23 Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or hides of sea cows brought them. NKJV 24 Everyone who offered an offering of silver or bronze brought the Lord's offering. And everyone with whom was found acacia wood for any work of the service, brought it. NIV 24 Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it. NKJV 25 All the women who were gifted artisans spun yarn with their hands, and brought what they had spun, of blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine linen. NIV 25 Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun--blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen. NKJV 26 And all the women whose heart stirred with wisdom spun yarn of goats' hair. NIV 26 And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair. NKJV 27 The rulers brought onyx stones, and the stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate, NIV 27 The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. NKJV 28 and spices and oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. NIV 28 They also brought spices and olive oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense. NKJV 29 The children of Israel brought a freewill offering to the Lord, all the men and women whose hearts were willing to bring material for all kinds of work which the Lord, by the hand of Moses, had commanded to be done. NIV 29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do. NKJV 30 And Moses said to the children of Israel, "See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; NIV 30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, NKJV 31 and He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship, NIV 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts-- NKJV 32 to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze, NIV 32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, NKJV 33 in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of artistic workmanship. NIV 33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. NKJV 34 And He has put in his heart the ability to teach, in him and Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. NIV 34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. NKJV 35 He has filled them with skill to do all manner of work of the engraver and the designer and the tapestry maker, in blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen, and of the weaver--those who do every work and those who design artistic works. NIV 35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers--all of them master craftsmen and designers.
