Exodus 39

MSG 1 Vestments. Using the blue, purple, and scarlet fabrics, they made the woven vestments for ministering in the Sanctuary. Also they made the sacred vestments for Aaron, as God had commanded Moses. NIV 1 From the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses. MSG 2 Ephod. They made the Ephod using gold and blue, purple, and scarlet fabrics and finely twisted linen. NIV 2 They made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. MSG 3 They hammered out gold leaf and sliced it into threads that were then worked into designs in the blue, purple, and scarlet fabric and fine linen. NIV 3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut strands to be worked into the blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen--the work of a skilled craftsman. MSG 4 They made shoulder pieces fastened at the two ends. NIV 4 They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached to two of its corners, so it could be fastened. MSG 5 The decorated band was made of the same material - gold, blue, purple, and scarlet material, and of fine twisted linen - and of one piece with it, just as God had commanded Moses. NIV 9 It was square--a span long and a span wide--and folded double. MSG 10 They mounted four rows of precious gemstones on it. First row: carnelian, topaz, emerald. MSG 16 They made two settings of gold filigree and two rings of gold, put the two rings at the two ends of the Breastpiece, NIV 16 They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece. MSG 17 and fastened the two ends of the cords to the two rings at the end of the Breastpiece. NIV 17 They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece, MSG 18 Then they fastened the cords to the settings of filigree, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the Ephod in front. MSG 19 Then they made two rings of gold and fastened them to the two ends of the Breastpiece on its inside edge facing the Ephod. MSG 20 They made two more rings of gold and fastened them in the front of the Ephod to the lower part of the two shoulder pieces, near the seam above the decorated band of the Ephod. NIV 20 Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod. MSG 21 The Breastpiece was fastened by running a cord of blue through its rings to the rings of the Ephod so that it rested secure on the decorated band of the Ephod and wouldn't come loose, just as God had commanded Moses. NIV 21 They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod--as the LORD commanded Moses. MSG 22 Robe. They made the robe for the Ephod entirely of blue. NIV 22 They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth--the work of a weaver-- MSG 23 The opening of the robe at the center was like a collar, the edge hemmed so that it wouldn't tear. MSG 24 On the hem of the robe they made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine twisted linen. NIV 29 The sash was of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn--the work of an embroiderer--as the LORD commanded Moses. MSG 30 They made the plate, the sacred crown, of pure gold and engraved on it as on a seal: "Holy to God." NIV 30 They made the plate, the sacred diadem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: holy to the LORD. MSG 31 They attached a blue cord to it and fastened it to the turban, just as God had commanded Moses. The People of Israel did what God had commanded Moses. They did it all. NIV 32 So all the work on the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, was completed. MSG 42 The Israelites completed all the work, just as God had commanded. NIV 42 The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses. MSG 43 Moses saw that they had done all the work and done it exactly as God had commanded. Moses blessed them. NIV 43 Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them.
