NRS 1 Of the blue, purple, and crimson yarns they made finely worked vestments, for ministering in the holy place; they made the sacred vestments for Aaron; as the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 1 From the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses. NRS 2 He made the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen. NIV 2 They made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. NRS 3 Gold leaf was hammered out and cut into threads to work into the blue, purple, and crimson yarns and into the fine twisted linen, in skilled design. NIV 3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut strands to be worked into the blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen--the work of a skilled craftsman. NRS 4 They made for the ephod shoulder-pieces, joined to it at its two edges. NIV 4 They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached to two of its corners, so it could be fastened. NRS 5 The decorated band on it was of the same materials and workmanship, of gold, of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen; as the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 5 Its skillfully woven waistband was like it--of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen, as the LORD commanded Moses. NRS 6 The onyx stones were prepared, enclosed in settings of gold filigree and engraved like the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel. NIV 6 They mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings and engraved them like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel. NRS 7 He set them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel; as the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 7 Then they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses. NRS 8 He made the breastpiece, in skilled work, like the work of the ephod, of gold, of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen. NIV 8 They fashioned the breastpiece--the work of a skilled craftsman. They made it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. NRS 9 It was square; the breastpiece was made double, a span in length and a span in width when doubled. NIV 9 It was square--a span long and a span wide--and folded double. NRS 10 They set in it four rows of stones. A row of carnelian, chrysolite, and emerald was the first row; NIV 10 Then they mounted four rows of precious stones on it. In the first row there was a ruby, a topaz and a beryl; NRS 11 and the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire, and a moonstone; NIV 11 in the second row a turquoise, a sapphire and an emerald; NRS 12 and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; NIV 12 in the third row a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst; NRS 13 and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper; they were enclosed in settings of gold filigree. NIV 13 in the fourth row a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper. They were mounted in gold filigree settings. NRS 14 There were twelve stones with names corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel; they were like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes. NIV 14 There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes. NRS 15 They made on the breastpiece chains of pure gold, twisted like cords; NIV 15 For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like a rope. NRS 16 and they made two settings of gold filigree and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece; NIV 16 They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece. NRS 17 and they put the two cords of gold in the two rings at the edges of the breastpiece. NIV 17 They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece, NRS 18 Two ends of the two cords they had attached to the two settings of filigree; in this way they attached it in front to the shoulder-pieces of the ephod. NIV 18 and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front. NRS 19 Then they made two rings of gold, and put them at the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod. NIV 19 They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod. NRS 20 They made two rings of gold, and attached them in front to the lower part of the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod, at its joining above the decorated band of the ephod. NIV 20 Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod. NRS 21 They bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it should lie on the decorated band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece should not come loose from the ephod; as the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 21 They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod--as the LORD commanded Moses. NRS 22 He also made the robe of the ephod woven all of blue yarn; NIV 22 They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth--the work of a weaver-- NRS 23 and the opening of the robe in the middle of it was like the opening in a coat of mail, with a binding around the opening, so that it might not be torn. NIV 23 with an opening in the center of the robe like the opening of a collar, and a band around this opening, so that it would not tear. NRS 24 On the lower hem of the robe they made pomegranates of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen. NIV 24 They made pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen around the hem of the robe. NRS 25 They also made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates on the lower hem of the robe all around, between the pomegranates; NIV 25 And they made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates. NRS 26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate all around on the lower hem of the robe for ministering; as the Lord had commanded Moses. NRS 30 They made the rosette of the holy diadem of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription, like the engraving of a signet, "Holy to the Lord." NIV 30 They made the plate, the sacred diadem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: holy to the LORD. NRS 31 They tied to it a blue cord, to fasten it on the turban above; as the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 31 Then they fastened a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban, as the LORD commanded Moses. NRS 32 In this way all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished; the Israelites had done everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
