Ezekiel 7:20-27

LEB 20 " 'And the beauty of its ornament {he made into a prideful thing} and made with it their detestable things and their vile idols; therefore I will make it into an impure thing for them. NIV 20 They were proud of their beautiful jewelry and used it to make their detestable idols and vile images. Therefore I will turn these into an unclean thing for them. LEB 21 And I will give it into the hand of strangers as plunder and to the wicked people of the earth as spoil, and they will defile it. NIV 21 I will hand it all over as plunder to foreigners and as loot to the wicked of the earth, and they will defile it. LEB 22 And I will turn my face from them, and they will defile my treasured [place], and violent ones will enter and defile it. NIV 22 I will turn my face away from them, and they will desecrate my treasured place; robbers will enter it and desecrate it. LEB 23 Make a chain for the land; it is full of {bloody crimes} and the city is full of violence. NIV 23 "Prepare chains, because the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of violence. LEB 24 And I will bring [the] worst of [the] nations, and they will take possession of their houses, and I will put to an end [the] pride of [the] mighty ones, and their sanctuaries will be defiled. NIV 24 I will bring the most wicked of the nations to take possession of their houses; I will put an end to the pride of the mighty, and their sanctuaries will be desecrated. LEB 25 Anguish comes, and they will seek peace, and [there will be] none. NIV 25 When terror comes, they will seek peace, but there will be none. LEB 26 Calamity upon calamity will come, and rumor will be upon rumor. And they will seek a vision from a prophet, but instruction will perish from [the] priest and counsel from [the] elders. NIV 26 Calamity upon calamity will come, and rumor upon rumor. They will try to get a vision from the prophet; the teaching of the law by the priest will be lost, as will the counsel of the elders. LEB 27 The king will mourn, and [the] prince will be dressed with despair, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. According to their way I will do to them, and according to their judgments I will judge them, and they will know that I [am] Yahweh.'" NIV 27 The king will mourn, the prince will be clothed with despair, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and by their own standards I will judge them. Then they will know that I am the LORD."
