Ezekiel 7:20-27

NAS 20 'They transformed the beauty of His ornaments into pride, and they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things with it; therefore I will make it an abhorrent thing to them. NIV 20 They were proud of their beautiful jewelry and used it to make their detestable idols and vile images. Therefore I will turn these into an unclean thing for them. NAS 21 'I will give it into the hands of the foreigners as plunder and to the wicked of the earth as spoil, and they will profane it. NIV 21 I will hand it all over as plunder to foreigners and as loot to the wicked of the earth, and they will defile it. NAS 22 'I will also turn My face from them, and they will profane My secret place; then robbers will enter and profane it. NIV 22 I will turn my face away from them, and they will desecrate my treasured place; robbers will enter it and desecrate it. NAS 23 'Make the chain, for the land is full of bloody crimes and the city is full of violence. NIV 23 "Prepare chains, because the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of violence. NAS 24 'Therefore, I will bring the worst of the nations, and they will possess their houses. I will also make the pride of the strong ones cease, and their holy places will be profaned. NIV 24 I will bring the most wicked of the nations to take possession of their houses; I will put an end to the pride of the mighty, and their sanctuaries will be desecrated. NAS 25 'When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there will be none. NIV 25 When terror comes, they will seek peace, but there will be none. NAS 26 'Disaster will come upon disaster and rumor will be added to rumor; then they will seek a vision from a prophet, but the law will be lost from the priest and counsel from the elders. NIV 26 Calamity upon calamity will come, and rumor upon rumor. They will try to get a vision from the prophet; the teaching of the law by the priest will be lost, as will the counsel of the elders. NAS 27 'The king will mourn, the prince will be clothed with horror, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. According to their conduct I will deal with them, and by their judgments I will judge them. And they will know that I am the LORD .' " NIV 27 The king will mourn, the prince will be clothed with despair, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and by their own standards I will judge them. Then they will know that I am the LORD."
