NAS 1 Paul, an apostle (not sent from men nor through the agency of man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead ), NIV 1 Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead-- NAS 2 and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: NIV 2 and all the brothers with me, To the churches in Galatia: NAS 3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, NIV 3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, NAS 4 who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, NIV 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, NAS 5 to whom be the glory forevermore. Amen. NIV 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. NAS 6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; NIV 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- NAS 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. NIV 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. NAS 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! NIV 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! NAS 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! NIV 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! NAS 10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. NIV 10 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. NAS 11 For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. NIV 11 I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. NAS 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. NIV 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. NAS 13 For you have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it; NIV 13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. NAS 14 and I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my ancestral traditions. NIV 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many Jews of my own age and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. NAS 15 But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased NIV 15 But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased NAS 16 to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood, NIV 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man, NAS 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to Damascus. NIV 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went immediately into Arabia and later returned to Damascus. NAS 18 Then three years later I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days. NIV 18 Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Peter and stayed with him fifteen days. NAS 19 But I did not see any other of the apostles except James, the Lord's brother. NIV 19 I saw none of the other apostles--only James, the Lord's brother. NAS 20 (Now in what I am writing to you, I assure you before God that I am not lying.) NIV 20 I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie. NAS 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. NIV 21 Later I went to Syria and Cilicia. NAS 22 I was still unknown by sight to the churches of Judea which were in Christ; NIV 22 I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. NAS 23 but only, they kept hearing, "He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith which he once tried to destroy." NIV 23 They only heard the report: "The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." NAS 24 And they were glorifying God because of me. NIV 24 And they praised God because of me.
