Galatians 5:8-18

NAS 8 This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you. NIV 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. NAS 9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. NIV 9 "A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough." NAS 10 I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is. NIV 10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion will pay the penalty, whoever he may be. NAS 11 But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished. NIV 11 Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. NAS 12 I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves. NIV 12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves! NAS 13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. NIV 13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. NAS 14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." NIV 14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." NAS 15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. NIV 15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. NAS 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. NIV 16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. NAS 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. NIV 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. NAS 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. NIV 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
