CEB 6 God said, "Let there be a dome in the middle of the waters to separate the waters from each other." NIV 6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." CEB 7 God made the dome and separated the waters under the dome from the waters above the dome. And it happened in that way. NIV 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. CEB 8 God named the dome Sky. There was evening and there was morning: the second day. NIV 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning--the second day. God saw how good it was. NIV 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good. CEB 11 God said, "Let the earth grow plant life: plants yielding seeds and fruit trees bearing fruit with seeds inside it, each according to its kind throughout the earth." And that's what happened. NIV 11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. CEB 12 The earth produced plant life: plants yielding seeds, each according to its kind, and trees bearing fruit with seeds inside it, each according to its kind. God saw how good it was. NIV 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. CEB 13 There was evening and there was morning: the third day. NIV 13 And there was evening, and there was morning--the third day. CEB 14 God said, "Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will mark events, sacred seasons, days, and years. NIV 14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, CEB 15 They will be lights in the dome of the sky to shine on the earth." And that's what happened. NIV 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. CEB 16 God made the stars and two great lights: the larger light to rule over the day and the smaller light to rule over the night. NIV 16 God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. CEB 17 God put them in the dome of the sky to shine on the earth, NIV 17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, CEB 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. CEB 21 God created the great sea animals and all the tiny living things that swarm in the waters, each according to its kind, and all the winged birds, each according to its kind. God saw how good it was. NIV 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. CEB 22 Then God blessed them: "Be fertile and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth." NIV 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." CEB 23 There was evening and there was morning: the fifth day. NIV 23 And there was evening, and there was morning--the fifth day. CEB 27 God created humanity in God's own image, in the divine image God created them, male and female God created them. NIV 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. CEB 28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and master it. Take charge of the fish of the sea, the birds in the sky, and everything crawling on the ground." NIV 28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." CEB 29 Then God said, "I now give to you all the plants on the earth that yield seeds and all the trees whose fruit produces its seeds within it. These will be your food. NIV 29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
