Genesis 10

GNT 1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. These three had sons after the flood. NIV 1 This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah's sons, who themselves had sons after the flood. GNT 2 The sons of Japheth - Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras - were the ancestors of the peoples who bear their names. NIV 2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras. GNT 3 The descendants of Gomer were the people of Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. The different tribes of the Canaanites spread out, NIV 18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later the Canaanite clans scattered GNT 19 until the Canaanite borders reached from Sidon southward to Gerar near Gaza, and eastward to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim near Lasha. GNT 20 These are the descendants of Ham, living in their different tribes and countries, each group speaking its own language. NIV 20 These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations. GNT 21 Shem, the older brother of Japheth, was the ancestor of all the Hebrews. NIV 21 Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber. GNT 22 Shem's sons - Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram - were the ancestors of the peoples who bear their names. NIV 22 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram. GNT 23 The descendants of Aram were the people of Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshek. NIV 23 The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech. GNT 24 Arpachshad was the father of Shelah, who was the father of Eber. NIV 24 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber. GNT 25 Eber had two sons: one was named Peleg, because during his time the people of the world were divided; and the other was named Joktan. NIV 25 Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan. GNT 26 The descendants of Joktan were the people of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, NIV 26 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, GNT 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, NIV 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, GNT 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, NIV 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, GNT 29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. After the flood all the nations of the earth were descended from the sons of Noah. NIV 32 These are the clans of Noah's sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.
