Genesis 14:9-19

KJV 9 With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five. NIV 9 against Kedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar and Arioch king of Ellasar--four kings against five. KJV 10 And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits ; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled , and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. NIV 10 Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits, and when the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some of the men fell into them and the rest fled to the hills. KJV 11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way . NIV 11 The four kings seized all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food; then they went away. KJV 12 And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed . NIV 12 They also carried off Abram's nephew Lot and his possessions, since he was living in Sodom. KJV 13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. NIV 13 One who had escaped came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the great trees of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were allied with Abram. KJV 14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive , he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen , and pursued them unto Dan. NIV 14 When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan. KJV 15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. NIV 15 During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus. KJV 16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. NIV 16 He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people. KJV 17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale. NIV 17 After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley). KJV 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. NIV 18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, KJV 19 And he blessed him, and said , Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: NIV 19 and he blessed Abram, saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.
