For the full price let him give it to me in the midst of you for a possession of a burying-place." NIV 9 so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you." NIV 12 Again Abraham bowed down before the people of the land HNV 13 He spoke to `Efron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, "But if you will, please hear me. I will give the price of the field. Take it from me, and I will bury my dead there." NIV 13 and he said to Ephron in their hearing, "Listen to me, if you will. I will pay the price of the field. What is a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver between me and you? Therefore bury your dead." NIV 15 "Listen to me, my lord; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver, but what is that between me and you? Bury your dead." HNV 16 Avraham listened to `Efron. Avraham weighed to `Efron the silver which he had named in the audience of the children of Het, four hundred shekels of silver, according to the current merchants' standard. NIV 16 Abraham agreed to Ephron's terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants. NIV 18 to Abraham as his property in the presence of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of the city. HNV 19 After this, Avraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Makhpelah before Mamre (the same is Hevron), in the land of Kana`an NIV 19 Afterward Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave in the field of Machpelah near Mamre (which is at Hebron) in the land of Canaan. HNV 20 The field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure to Avraham for a possession of a burying place by the children of Het. NIV 20 So the field and the cave in it were deeded to Abraham by the Hittites as a burial site.
