Genesis 24:34-38

CEB 34 The man said, "I am Abraham's servant." NRS 34 So he said, "I am Abraham's servant. CEB 35 The LORD has richly blessed my master, has made him a great man, and has given him flocks, cattle, silver, gold, men servants, women servants, camels, and donkeys. NRS 35 The Lord has greatly blessed my master, and he has become wealthy; he has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female slaves, camels and donkeys. CEB 36 My master's wife Sarah gave birth to a son for my master in her old age, and he's given him everything he owns. NRS 36 And Sarah my master's wife bore a son to my master when she was old; and he has given him all that he has. CEB 37 My master made me give him my word: ‘Don't choose a wife for my son from the Canaanite women, in whose land I'm living. NRS 37 My master made me swear, saying, "You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live; CEB 38 No, instead, go to my father's household and to my relatives and choose a wife for my son.' NRS 38 but you shall go to my father's house, to my kindred, and get a wife for my son.'

CEB 42 "Today I arrived at the spring, and I said, ‘LORD, God of my master Abraham, if you wish to make the trip I'm taking successful, NRS 42 "I came today to the spring, and said, "O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, if now you will only make successful the way I am going! CEB 43 when I'm standing by the spring and the young woman who comes out to draw water and to whom I say, 'Please give me a little drink of water from your jar,' NRS 43 I am standing here by the spring of water; let the young woman who comes out to draw, to whom I shall say, "Please give me a little water from your jar to drink," CEB 44 and she responds to me, 'Drink, and I will draw water for your camels too,' may she be the woman the LORD has selected for my master's son.' NRS 44 and who will say to me, "Drink, and I will draw for your camels also"—let her be the woman whom the Lord has appointed for my master's son.' CEB 45 Before I finished saying this to myself, Rebekah came out with her water jar on her shoulder and went down to the spring to draw water. And I said to her, ‘Please give me something to drink.' NRS 45 "Before I had finished speaking in my heart, there was Rebekah coming out with her water jar on her shoulder; and she went down to the spring, and drew. I said to her, "Please let me drink.' CEB 46 She immediately lowered her water jar and said, ‘Drink, and I will give your camels something to drink too.' So I drank and she also gave water to the camels. NRS 46 She quickly let down her jar from her shoulder, and said, "Drink, and I will also water your camels.' So I drank, and she also watered the camels. CEB 47 Then I asked her, ‘Whose daughter are you?' And she said, ‘The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son whom Milcah bore him.' I put a ring in her nose and bracelets on her arms. NRS 47 Then I asked her, "Whose daughter are you?' She said, "The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore to him.' So I put the ring on her nose, and the bracelets on her arms. CEB 48 I bowed and worshipped the LORD and blessed the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who led me in the right direction to choose the granddaughter of my master's brother for his son. NRS 48 Then I bowed my head and worshiped the Lord, and blessed the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me by the right way to obtain the daughter of my master's kinsman for his son. CEB 49 Now if you're loyal and faithful to my master, tell me. If not, tell me so I will know where I stand either way." NRS 49 Now then, if you will deal loyally and truly with my master, tell me; and if not, tell me, so that I may turn either to the right hand or to the left."

Genesis 24:58-67

CEB 58 They called Rebekah and said to her, "Will you go with this man?" She said, "I will go." NRS 58 And they called Rebekah, and said to her, "Will you go with this man?" She said, "I will." CEB 59 So they sent off their sister Rebekah, her nurse, Abraham's servant, and his men. NRS 59 So they sent away their sister Rebekah and her nurse along with Abraham's servant and his men. CEB 60 And they blessed Rebekah, saying to her, "May you, our sister, become thousands of ten thousand; may your children possess their enemies' cities." NRS 60 And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, "May you, our sister, become thousands of myriads; may your offspring gain possession of the gates of their foes." CEB 61 Rebekah and her young women got up, mounted the camels, and followed the man. So the servant took Rebekah and left. NRS 61 Then Rebekah and her maids rose up, mounted the camels, and followed the man; thus the servant took Rebekah, and went his way. CEB 63 One evening, Isaac went out to inspect the pasture, and while staring he saw camels approaching. NRS 63 Isaac went out in the evening to walk in the field; and looking up, he saw camels coming. CEB 64 Rebekah stared at Isaac. She got down from the camel NRS 64 And Rebekah looked up, and when she saw Isaac, she slipped quickly from the camel, CEB 65 and said to the servant, "Who is this man walking through the pasture to meet us?" The servant said, "He's my master." So she took her headscarf and covered herself. NRS 65 and said to the servant, "Who is the man over there, walking in the field to meet us?" The servant said, "It is my master." So she took her veil and covered herself. CEB 66 The servant told Isaac everything that had happened. NRS 66 And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done. CEB 67 Isaac brought Rebekah into his mother Sarah's tent. He received Rebekah as his wife and loved her. So Isaac found comfort after his mother's death. NRS 67 Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent. He took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.
