Genesis 2:19-25

ESV 19 Now out of the ground the LORD God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. NIV 19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. ESV 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. NIV 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. ESV 21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. NIV 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. ESV 22 And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. NIV 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. ESV 23 Then the man said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." NIV 23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." ESV 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. NIV 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. ESV 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. NIV 25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
