Genesis 36

YLT 1 And these [are] births of Esau, who [is] Edom. NIV 1 This is the account of Esau (that is, Edom). YLT 2 Esau hath taken his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivite, NIV 2 Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite-- YLT 3 and Bashemath daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebajoth. NIV 3 also Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth. YLT 4 And Adah beareth to Esau, Eliphaz; and Bashemath hath born Reuel; NIV 4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath bore Reuel, YLT 5 and Aholibamah hath born Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. These [are] sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan. NIV 5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the sons of Esau, who were born to him in Canaan. YLT 6 And Esau taketh his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance which he hath acquired in the land of Canaan, and goeth into the country from the face of Jacob his brother; NIV 6 Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock and all his other animals and all the goods he had acquired in Canaan, and moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob. YLT 7 for their substance was more abundant than to dwell together, and the land of their sojournings was not able to bear them because of their cattle; NIV 7 Their possessions were too great for them to remain together; the land where they were staying could not support them both because of their livestock. YLT 11 And the sons of Eliphaz are Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz; NIV 11 The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz. YLT 12 and Timnath hath been concubine to Eliphaz son of Esau, and she beareth to Eliphaz, Amalek; these [are] sons of Adah wife of Esau. NIV 12 Esau's son Eliphaz also had a concubine named Timna, who bore him Amalek. These were grandsons of Esau's wife Adah. YLT 13 And these [are] sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah; these were sons of Bashemath wife of Esau. NIV 13 The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were grandsons of Esau's wife Basemath. YLT 14 And these have been the sons of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon, wife of Esau; and she beareth to Esau, Jeush and Jaalam and Korah. NIV 14 The sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, whom she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jalam and Korah. YLT 15 These [are] chiefs of the sons of Esau: sons of Eliphaz, first-born of Esau: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz, NIV 15 These were the chiefs among Esau's descendants: The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz, YLT 16 chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek; these [are] chiefs of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom; these [are] sons of Adah. NIV 16 Korah, Gatam and Amalek. These were the chiefs descended from Eliphaz in Edom; they were grandsons of Adah. YLT 17 And these [are] sons of Reuel son of Esau: chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah; these [are] chiefs of Reuel, in the land of Edom; these [are] sons of Bashemath wife of Esau. NIV 17 The sons of Esau's son Reuel: Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the chiefs descended from Reuel in Edom; they were grandsons of Esau's wife Basemath. YLT 18 And these [are] sons of Aholibamah wife of Esau: chief Jeush, chief Jaalam, chief Korah; these [are] chiefs of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, wife of Esau. NIV 18 The sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah: Chiefs Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the chiefs descended from Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah. NIV 21 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These sons of Seir in Edom were Horite chiefs. YLT 22 And the sons of Lotan are Hori and Heman; and a sister of Lotan [is] Timna. NIV 22 The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan's sister. YLT 23 And these [are] sons of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho and Onam. NIV 23 The sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam. YLT 24 And these [are] sons of Zibeon, both Ajah and Anah: it [is] Anah that hath found the Imim in the wilderness, in his feeding the asses of Zibeon his father. NIV 24 The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who discovered the hot springs in the desert while he was grazing the donkeys of his father Zibeon. YLT 25 And these [are] sons of Anah: Dishon, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah. NIV 25 The children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah. YLT 26 And these [are] sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran. NIV 26 The sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Keran. YLT 27 These [are] sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan. NIV 27 The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan. YLT 28 These [are] sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran. YLT 29 These [are] chiefs of the Horite: chief Lotan, chief Shobal, chief Zibeon, chief Anah, NIV 29 These were the Horite chiefs: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, YLT 30 chief Dishon, chief Ezer, chief Dishan: these [are] chiefs of the Horite in reference to their chiefs in the land of Seir. NIV 30 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These were the Horite chiefs, according to their divisions, in the land of Seir. YLT 31 And these [are] the kings who have reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king over the sons of Israel. NIV 31 These were the kings who reigned in Edom before any Israelite king reigned: YLT 32 And Bela son of Beor reigneth in Edom, and the name of his city [is] Dinhabah; NIV 32 Bela son of Beor became king of Edom. His city was named Dinhabah. YLT 33 and Bela dieth, and reign in his stead doth Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah; NIV 33 When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah succeeded him as king. YLT 34 and Jobab dieth, and reign in his stead doth Husham from the land of the Temanite. NIV 34 When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him as king. YLT 35 And Husham dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadad son of Bedad (who smiteth Midian in the field of Moab), and the name of his city [is] Avith; NIV 35 When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, succeeded him as king. His city was named Avith. YLT 36 and Hadad dieth, and reign in his stead doth Samlah of Masrekah; NIV 36 When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him as king. YLT 37 and Samlah dieth, and reign in his stead doth Saul from Rehoboth of the River; NIV 37 When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the river succeeded him as king. YLT 38 and Saul dieth, and reign in his stead doth Baal-hanan son of Achbor; NIV 38 When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Acbor succeeded him as king. YLT 39 and Baal-hanan son of Achbor dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadar, and the name of his city [is] Pau; and his wife's name [is] Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab. NIV 39 When Baal-Hanan son of Acbor died, Hadad succeeded him as king. His city was named Pau, and his wife's name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab. YLT 40 And these [are] the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families, according to their places, by their names: chief Timnah, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth, NIV 40 These were the chiefs descended from Esau, by name, according to their clans and regions: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, YLT 41 chief Aholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon, NIV 41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, YLT 42 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar, NIV 42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, YLT 43 chief Magdiel, chief Iram: these [are] chiefs of Edom, in reference to their dwellings, in the land of their possession; he [is] Esau father of Edom. NIV 43 Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements in the land they occupied. This was Esau the father of the Edomites.
