Genesis 50:15-26

NAS 15 When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "What if Joseph bears a grudge against us and pays us back in full for all the wrong which we did to him!" NIV 15 When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?" NAS 16 So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, "Your father charged before he died, saying, NIV 16 So they sent word to Joseph, saying, "Your father left these instructions before he died: NAS 17 'Thus you shall say to Joseph, "Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong."' And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. NIV 17 'This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.' Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father." When their message came to him, Joseph wept. NAS 18 Then his brothers also came and fell down before him and said, "Behold, we are your servants." NIV 18 His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. "We are your slaves," they said. NAS 19 But Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in God's place? NIV 19 But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? NAS 20 "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive. NIV 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. NAS 21 "So therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones." So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. NIV 21 So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children." And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them. NAS 22 Now Joseph stayed in Egypt, he and his father's household, and Joseph lived one hundred and ten years. NIV 22 Joseph stayed in Egypt, along with all his father's family. He lived a hundred and ten years NAS 23 Joseph saw the third generation of Ephraim's sons; also the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were born on Joseph's knees. NIV 23 and saw the third generation of Ephraim's children. Also the children of Makir son of Manasseh were placed at birth on Joseph's knees. NAS 24 Joseph said to his brothers, "I am about to die, but God will surely take care of you and bring you up from this land to the land which He promised on oath to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob." NIV 24 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." NAS 25 Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, "God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones up from here." NIV 25 And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an oath and said, "God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place." NAS 26 So Joseph died at the age of one hundred and ten years; and he was embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt. NIV 26 So Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten. And after they embalmed him, he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.
