Genesis 6:9-22

NLT 9 This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. NIV 9 This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. NLT 10 Noah was the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. NIV 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. NLT 11 Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. NIV 11 Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. NLT 12 God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. NIV 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. NLT 13 So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth! NIV 13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. NLT 14 “Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. NIV 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. NLT 15 Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. NIV 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. NLT 16 Leave an 18-inch opening below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper. NIV 16 Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. NLT 17 “Look! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die. NIV 17 I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. NLT 18 But I will confirm my covenant with you. So enter the boat—you and your wife and your sons and their wives. NIV 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark--you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. NLT 19 Bring a pair of every kind of animal—a male and a female—into the boat with you to keep them alive during the flood. NIV 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. NLT 20 Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground, will come to you to be kept alive. NIV 20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. NLT 21 And be sure to take on board enough food for your family and for all the animals.” NIV 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them." NLT 22 So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him. NIV 22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
