Hebrews 13

CSB 1 Let brotherly love continue. NIV 1 Keep on loving each other as brothers. CSB 2 Don't neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it. NIV 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. CSB 3 Remember the prisoners, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily. NIV 3 Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. CSB 4 Marriage must be respected by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge immoral people and adulterers. NIV 4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. CSB 5 Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you. NIV 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." CSB 6 Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? NIV 6 So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" CSB 7 Remember your leaders who have spoken God's word to you. As you carefully observe the outcome of their lives, imitate their faith. NIV 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. CSB 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. NIV 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. CSB 9 Don't be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established by grace and not by foods, since those involved in them have not benefited. NIV 9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them. CSB 10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle do not have a right to eat. NIV 10 We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat. CSB 11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy of holies by the high priest as a sin offering are burned outside the camp. NIV 11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. CSB 12 Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that He might sanctify the people by His own blood. NIV 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. CSB 13 Let us then go to Him outside the camp, bearing His disgrace. NIV 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. CSB 14 For here we do not have an enduring city; instead, we seek the one to come. NIV 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. CSB 15 Therefore, through Him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that confess His name. NIV 15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that confess his name. CSB 16 Don't neglect to do good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices. NIV 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. CSB 17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. NIV 17 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. CSB 18 Pray for us; for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honorably in everything. NIV 18 Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way. CSB 19 And I especially urge you to pray that I may be restored to you very soon. NIV 19 I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon. CSB 20 Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus-the great Shepherd of the sheep-with the blood of the everlasting covenant, NIV 20 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, CSB 21 equip you with all that is good to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. NIV 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. CSB 22 Brothers, I urge you to receive this word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words. NIV 22 Brothers, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written you only a short letter. CSB 23 Be aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon enough, he will be with me when I see you. NIV 23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you. CSB 24 Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy greet you. NIV 24 Greet all your leaders and all God's people. Those from Italy send you their greetings. CSB 25 Grace be with all of you. NIV 25 Grace be with you all.
