Hebrews 3

NAS 1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession; NIV 1 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. NAS 2 He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house. NIV 2 He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God's house. NAS 3 For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house. NIV 3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. NAS 4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. NIV 4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. NAS 5 Now Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later; NIV 5 Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's house, testifying to what would be said in the future. NAS 6 but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house -whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end. NIV 6 But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. NAS 7 Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, NIV 7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you hear his voice, NAS 8 DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME, AS IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS, NIV 8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert, NAS 9 WHERE YOUR FATHERS TRIED Me BY TESTING Me, AND SAW MY WORKS FOR FORTY YEARS. NIV 9 where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did. NAS 10 "THEREFORE I WAS ANGRY WITH THIS GENERATION, AND SAID, 'THEY ALWAYS GO ASTRAY IN THEIR HEART, AND THEY DID NOT KNOW MY WAYS '; NIV 10 That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.' NAS 11 AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, 'THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.' " NIV 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.' " NAS 12 Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. NIV 12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. NAS 13 But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. NIV 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. NAS 14 For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, NIV 14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. NAS 15 while it is said, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS, AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME." NIV 15 As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion." NAS 16 For who provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? NIV 16 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? NAS 17 And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? NIV 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? NAS 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? NIV 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed ? NAS 19 So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief. NIV 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.
