Hebrews 4:6-8

NRS 6 Since therefore it remains open for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, NIV 6 It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience. NRS 7 again he sets a certain day—"today"—saying through David much later, in the words already quoted, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." NIV 7 Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." NRS 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later about another day. NIV 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
