Hebrews 9:6-9

RSV 6 These preparations having thus been made, the priests go continually into the outer tent, performing their ritual duties; NIV 6 When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry. RSV 7 but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood which he offers for himself and for the errors of the people. NIV 7 But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. RSV 8 By this the Holy Spirit indicates that the way into the sanctuary is not yet opened as long as the outer tent is still standing NIV 8 The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing. RSV 9 (which is symbolic for the present age). According to this arrangement, gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot perfect the conscience of the worshiper, NIV 9 This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.
