Isaiah 10:20-26

CSB 20 On that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer depend on the one who struck them, but they will faithfully depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. NIV 20 In that day the remnant of Israel, the survivors of the house of Jacob, will no longer rely on him who struck them down but will truly rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel. CSB 21 The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the Mighty God. NIV 21 A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God. CSB 22 Israel, even if your people were as numerous as the sand of the sea, [only] a remnant of them will return. Destruction has been decreed; justice overflows. NIV 22 Though your people, O Israel, be like the sand by the sea, only a remnant will return. Destruction has been decreed, overwhelming and righteous. CSB 23 For throughout the land the Lord God of Hosts is carrying out a destruction that was decreed. NIV 23 The Lord, the LORD Almighty, will carry out the destruction decreed upon the whole land. CSB 24 Therefore, the Lord God of Hosts says this: "My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though he strikes you with a rod and raises his staff over you as the Egyptians did. NIV 24 Therefore, this is what the Lord, the LORD Almighty, says: "O my people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did. CSB 25 In just a little while My wrath will be spent and My anger will turn to their destruction." NIV 25 Very soon my anger against you will end and my wrath will be directed to their destruction." CSB 26 And the Lord of Hosts will brandish a whip against him as [He did when He] struck Midian at the rock of Oreb; and He will raise His staff over the sea as [He did] in Egypt. NIV 26 The LORD Almighty will lash them with a whip, as when he struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb; and he will raise his staff over the waters, as he did in Egypt.
