CEB 1 The vision about Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah, Amoz's son, saw in the days of Judah's kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. NRS 1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

CEB 10 Hear the LORD's word, you leaders of Sodom. Listen to our God's teaching, people of Gomorrah! NRS 10 Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom! Listen to the teaching of our God, you people of Gomorrah! CEB 11 What should I think about all your sacrifices? says the LORD. I'm fed up with entirely burned offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed beasts. I don't want the blood of bulls, lambs, and goats. NRS 11 What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says the Lord; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts; I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of goats. CEB 12 When you come to appear before me, who asked this from you, this trampling of my temple's courts? NRS 12 When you come to appear before me, who asked this from your hand? Trample my courts no more; CEB 13 Stop bringing worthless offerings. Your incense repulses me. New moon, sabbath, and the calling of an assembly— I can't stand wickedness with celebration! NRS 13 bringing offerings is futile; incense is an abomination to me. New moon and sabbath and calling of convocation— I cannot endure solemn assemblies with iniquity. CEB 14 I hate your new moons and your festivals. They've become a burden that I'm tired of bearing. NRS 14 Your new moons and your appointed festivals my soul hates; they have become a burden to me, I am weary of bearing them. CEB 15 When you extend your hands, I'll hide my eyes from you. Even when you pray for a long time, I won't listen. Your hands are stained with blood. NRS 15 When you stretch out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. CEB 16 Wash! Be clean! Remove your ugly deeds from my sight. Put an end to such evil; NRS 16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil, CEB 17 learn to do good. Seek justice: help the oppressed; defend the orphan; plead for the widow. NRS 17 learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. CEB 18 Come now, and let's settle this, says the LORD. Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be white as snow. If they are red as crimson, they will become like wool. NRS 18 Come now, let us argue it out, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. CEB 19 If you agree and obey, you will eat the best food of the land. NRS 19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; CEB 20 But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. The LORD has said this. NRS 20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
