Isaiah 43:20-28

DBY 20 The beast of the field shall glorify me, the jackals and the ostriches; for I will give waters in the wilderness, rivers in the waste, to give drink to my people, my chosen. NIV 20 The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, DBY 21 This people have I formed for myself: they shall shew forth my praise. DBY 22 -- But thou hast not called upon me, Jacob; for thou hast been weary of me, O Israel: NIV 22 "Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, O Israel. DBY 23 thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt-offerings, neither hast thou glorified me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to toil with an oblation, nor wearied thee with incense. NIV 23 You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense. DBY 24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices; but thou hast made me to toil with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. NIV 24 You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses. DBY 25 -- I, I [am] He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and I will not remember thy sins. NIV 25 "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. DBY 26 Put me in remembrance, let us plead together; rehearse thine own [cause], that thou mayest be justified. NIV 26 Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence. DBY 27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy mediators have rebelled against me. NIV 27 Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me. DBY 28 And I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the ban, and Israel to reproaches. NIV 28 So I will disgrace the dignitaries of your temple, and I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.
