1 El Salvador de Israel<br />Pero ahora, oh Jacob, escucha al Señor<br />, quien te creó.<br />Oh Israel, el que te formó dice:<br />«No tengas miedo, porque he pagado tu rescate;<br />te he llamado por tu nombre; eres mío.

2 Cuando pases por aguas profundas,<br />yo estaré contigo.<br />Cuando pases por ríos de dificultad,<br />no te ahogarás.<br />Cuando pases por el fuego de la opresión,<br />no te quemarás;<br />las llamas no te consumirán.

3 Pues yo soy el Señor<br />, tu Dios,<br />el Santo de Israel, tu Salvador.<br />Yo di a Egipto como rescate por tu libertad;<br />en tu lugar di a Etiopía<br /> y a Seba.

4 Entregué a otros a cambio de ti.<br />Cambié la vida de ellos por la tuya,<br />porque eres muy precioso para mí.<br />Recibes honra, y yo te amo.

5 »No tengas miedo, porque yo estoy contigo.<br />Te reuniré a ti y a tus hijos del oriente y del occidente.

6 Les diré al norte y al sur:<br />“Traigan a mis hijos e hijas de regreso a Israel<br />desde los rincones más lejanos de la tierra.

7 Traigan a todo el que me reconoce como su Dios,<br />porque yo los he creado para mi gloria.<br />Fui yo quien los formé”».

8 Saquen a la gente que tiene ojos pero está ciega;<br />que tiene oídos pero está sorda.

9 ¡Reúnan a las naciones!<br />¡Convoquen a los pueblos del mundo!<br />¿Cuál de sus ídolos acaso predijo cosas semejantes?<br />¿Cuál de ellos puede predecir lo que sucederá mañana?<br />¿Dónde están los testigos de tales predicciones?<br />¿Quién puede comprobar que han dicho la verdad?

10 «Pero tú eres mi testigo, Israel —dice el Señor<br />—,<br />tú eres mi siervo.<br />Tú has sido escogido para conocerme, para creer en mí<br />y comprender que solo yo soy Dios.<br />No hay otro Dios;<br />nunca lo hubo y nunca lo habrá.

11 Yo, sí, yo soy el Señor<br />,<br />y no hay otro Salvador.

12 Primero predije tu rescate,<br />y después te salvé y lo proclamé ante el mundo.<br />Ningún dios extranjero jamás lo ha hecho.<br />Tú, Israel, eres testigo de que yo soy el único Dios<br />—dice el Señor<br />—.

13 Desde la eternidad y hasta la eternidad, yo soy Dios.<br />No hay quien pueda arrebatar a nadie de mi mano;<br />nadie puede deshacer lo que he hecho».

14 Victoria prometida por el Señor<br />Esto dice el Señor<br />, tu Redentor, el Santo de Israel:<br />«Por tu bien, enviaré un ejército contra Babilonia<br />y obligaré a los babilonios<br /> a huir en esos barcos de los que están tan orgullosos.

15 Yo soy el Señor<br />, tu Santo,<br />el Creador y Rey de Israel.

16 Yo soy el Señor<br />, que abrió un camino a través de las aguas,<br />e hizo una senda seca a través del mar.

17 Yo llamé al poderoso ejército de Egipto<br />con todos sus carros de guerra y sus caballos.<br />Los sumergí debajo de las olas, y se ahogaron;<br />su vida se apagó como mecha humeante.

18 »Pero olvida todo eso;<br />no es nada comparado con lo que voy a hacer.

19 Pues estoy a punto de hacer algo nuevo.<br />¡Mira, ya he comenzado! ¿No lo ves?<br />Haré un camino a través del desierto;<br />crearé ríos en la tierra árida y baldía.

20 Los animales salvajes de los campos me darán las gracias,<br />y también los chacales y los búhos,<br />por darles agua en el desierto.<br />Sí, haré ríos en la tierra árida y baldía,<br />para que mi pueblo escogido pueda refrescarse.

21 Yo hice a Israel para mí mismo,<br />y algún día me honrará delante del mundo entero.

22 »Sin embargo, querida familia de Jacob, tú te niegas a pedirme ayuda.<br />¡Oh Israel, te has cansado de mí!

23 No me has traído ovejas ni cabras para ofrendas quemadas.<br />No me has honrado con sacrificios,<br />aun cuando no te he agobiado ni fatigado<br />con exigencias de ofrendas de granos y de incienso.

24 No me has traído el cálamo aromático,<br />ni me has agradado con la grasa de los sacrificios.<br />En cambio, me has agobiado con tus pecados<br />y me has cansado con tus faltas.

25 »Yo, sí, yo solo, borraré tus pecados por amor a mí mismo<br />y nunca volveré a pensar en ellos.

26 Revisemos juntos la situación,<br />y presenta tu defensa para demostrar tu inocencia.

27 Desde el principio, tu primer antepasado pecó contra mí;<br />todos tus líderes quebrantaron mis leyes.

28 Por eso yo he avergonzado a tus sacerdotes;<br />he decretado la destrucción total<br /> de Jacob<br />y la vergüenza para Israel.

1 But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.

5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.

6 I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—

7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

8 Lead out those who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf.

9 All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of their gods foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”

10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.

11 I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.

12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God.

13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”

14 This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “For your sake I will send to Babylon and bring down as fugitives all the Babylonians,in the ships in which they took pride.

15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator, your King.”

16 This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,

17 who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:

18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

20 The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

21 the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.

22 “Yet you have not called on me, Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, Israel.

23 You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense.

24 You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses.

25 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

26 Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.

27 Your first father sinned; those I sent to teach you rebelled against me.

28 So I disgraced the dignitaries of your temple; I consigned Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.
