Jeremiah 31:29-34

NRS 29 In those days they shall no longer say: "The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge." NIV 29 "In those days people will no longer say, 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.' NRS 30 But all shall die for their own sins; the teeth of everyone who eats sour grapes shall be set on edge. NIV 30 Instead, everyone will die for his own sin; whoever eats sour grapes--his own teeth will be set on edge. NRS 31 The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. NIV 31 "The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. NRS 32 It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, says the Lord. NIV 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, " declares the LORD. NRS 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. NIV 33 "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. NRS 34 No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, "Know the Lord," for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more. NIV 34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
