1 Y cesaron estos tres varones de responder a Job, por cuanto él era justo en sus ojos

2 Entonces Eliú hijo de Baraquel, buzita, de la familia de Ram, se enojó con furor contra Job; se enojó con furor, por cuanto <em>se</em> justificaba a sí mismo más que a Dios

3 Se enojó asimismo con furor contra sus tres amigos, por cuanto no hallaban qué responder, habiendo condenado a Job

4 Y Eliú había esperado a Job en la disputa, porque <em>todos</em> eran más viejos de días que él

5 Pero viendo Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de aquellos tres varones, su furor se encendió

6 Y respondió Eliú hijo de Baraquel, buzita, y dijo: Yo <em>soy</em> menor de días y vosotros viejos; por tanto he tenido miedo, y he temido de declararos mi opinión

7 Yo decía: Los días hablarán, y la muchedumbre de años declarará sabiduría

8 Ciertamente espíritu hay en el hombre, e inspiración del Omnipotente los hace que entiendan

9 No <em>siempre</em> los grandes son los sabios, ni los viejos entienden el derecho

10 Por tanto yo dije: Escuchadme; declararé yo también mi conocimiento

11 He aquí yo he esperado a vuestras palabras, he escuchado vuestros argumentos, entre tanto que buscábais palabras

12 Y aun os he considerado, y he aquí que no hay de vosotros quien redarguya a Job, y responda a sus razones

13 Para que no digáis: Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría; que conviene que Dios lo derribe, y no <em>el</em> hombre

14 Ahora bien, él no dirigió a mí sus palabras, ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones

15 Se espantaron, no respondieron más; se les fueron las palabras

16 Y yo esperé, porque no hablaban, antes pararon, y no respondieron más

17 Por eso yo también responderé mi parte, también yo declararé mi opinión

18 Porque lleno estoy de palabras, y el espíritu de mi vientre me constriñe

19 De cierto mi vientre <em>está</em> como el vino que no tiene respiradero, y está que se brote como licor. {Heb. espíritus

20 Hablaré pues y respiraré; abriré mis labios, y responderé

21 No haré ahora acepción de personas, ni usaré con títulos lisonjeros con el hombre

22 Porque no sé hablar lisonjas; <em>de otra manera</em> en breve mi Hacedor me consuma

1 So these three men stopped answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2 But Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became very angry with Job for justifying himself rather than God.

3 He was also angry with the three friends, because they had found no way to refute Job, and yet had condemned him.

4 Now Elihu had waited before speaking to Job because they were older than he.

5 But when he saw that the three men had nothing more to say, his anger was aroused.

6 So Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite said: “I am young in years, and you are old; that is why I was fearful, not daring to tell you what I know.

7 I thought, ‘Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.’

8 But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.

9 It is not only the old who are wise, not only the aged who understand what is right.

10 “Therefore I say: Listen to me; I too will tell you what I know.

11 I waited while you spoke, I listened to your reasoning; while you were searching for words,

12 I gave you my full attention. But not one of you has proved Job wrong; none of you has answered his arguments.

13 Do not say, ‘We have found wisdom; let God, not a man, refute him.’

14 But Job has not marshaled his words against me, and I will not answer him with your arguments.

15 “They are dismayed and have no more to say; words have failed them.

16 Must I wait, now that they are silent, now that they stand there with no reply?

17 I too will have my say; I too will tell what I know.

18 For I am full of words, and the spirit within me compels me;

19 inside I am like bottled-up wine, like new wineskins ready to burst.

20 I must speak and find relief; I must open my lips and reply.

21 I will show no partiality, nor will I flatter anyone;

22 for if I were skilled in flattery, my Maker would soon take me away.
