WEB 1 Moreover Yahweh answered Job, NIV 1 The LORD said to Job: WEB 2 "Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it." NIV 2 "Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!" WEB 3 Then Job answered Yahweh, NIV 3 Then Job answered the LORD: WEB 4 "Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. NIV 4 "I am unworthy--how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth. WEB 5 I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further." NIV 5 I spoke once, but I have no answer-- twice, but I will say no more." WEB 6 Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind, NIV 6 Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm: WEB 7 "Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me. NIV 7 "Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. WEB 8 Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified? NIV 8 "Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself ? WEB 9 Or have you an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him? NIV 9 Do you have an arm like God's, and can your voice thunder like his? WEB 10 "Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty. NIV 10 Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty. WEB 11 Pour forth the fury of your anger. Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low. NIV 11 Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at every proud man and bring him low, WEB 12 Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place. NIV 12 look at every proud man and humble him, crush the wicked where they stand. WEB 13 Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place. NIV 13 Bury them all in the dust together; shroud their faces in the grave. WEB 14 Then I will also admit to you That your own right hand can save you. NIV 14 Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you. WEB 15 "See now, behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox. NIV 15 "Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. WEB 16 Look now, his strength is in his loins, His force is in the muscles of his belly. NIV 16 What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! WEB 17 He moves his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together. NIV 17 His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. WEB 18 His bones are like tubes of brass. His limbs are like bars of iron. NIV 18 His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. WEB 19 He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword. NIV 19 He ranks first among the works of God, yet his Maker can approach him with his sword. WEB 20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the animals of the field do play. NIV 20 The hills bring him their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby. WEB 21 He lies under the lotus trees, In the covert of the reed, and the marsh. NIV 21 Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. WEB 22 The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him. NIV 22 The lotuses conceal him in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround him. WEB 23 Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn't tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth. NIV 23 When the river rages, he is not alarmed; he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth. WEB 24 Shall any take him when he is on the watch, Or pierce through his nose with a snare? NIV 24 Can anyone capture him by the eyes, or trap him and pierce his nose?
