John 10

TMB 1 "Verily, verily I say unto you, he that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. NIV 1 "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. TMB 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. NIV 2 The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. TMB 3 To him the doorkeeper openeth, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calleth his own sheep by name and leadeth them out. NIV 3 The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. TMB 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. NIV 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. TMB 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him, for they know not the voice of strangers." NIV 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." TMB 6 This parable Jesus spoke unto them, but they understood not what things they were which He spoke unto them. NIV 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them. TMB 7 Then said Jesus unto them again, "Verily, verily I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. NIV 7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. TMB 8 All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. NIV 8 All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. TMB 9 I am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. NIV 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. TMB 10 The thief cometh not but to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. NIV 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. TMB 11 I am the Good Shepherd; the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep. NIV 11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. TMB 12 But he that is a hireling and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming and leaveth the sheep and fleeth; and the wolf catcheth them and scattereth the sheep. NIV 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. TMB 13 The hireling fleeth because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. NIV 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. TMB 14 I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep and am known by Mine. NIV 14 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me-- TMB 15 As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. NIV 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. TMB 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold. Them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold and one Shepherd. NIV 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. TMB 17 Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again. NIV 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. TMB 18 No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received from My Father." NIV 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father." TMB 19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. NIV 19 At these words the Jews were again divided. TMB 20 And many of them said, "He hath a devil and is mad. Why hear ye him?" NIV 20 Many of them said, "He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?" TMB 21 Others said, "These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?" NIV 21 But others said, "These are not the sayings of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?" TMB 22 And it was at Jerusalem the Feast of the Dedication, and it was winter. NIV 22 Then came the Feast of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter, TMB 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's Porch. NIV 23 and Jesus was in the temple area walking in Solomon's Colonnade. TMB 24 Then came the Jews round about Him and said unto Him, "How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly." NIV 24 The Jews gathered around him, saying, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." TMB 25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and ye believed not. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me. NIV 25 Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, TMB 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto you. NIV 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. TMB 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me. NIV 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. TMB 28 And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. NIV 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. TMB 29 My Father, who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. NIV 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. TMB 30 I and My Father are one." NIV 30 I and the Father are one." TMB 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. NIV 31 Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, TMB 32 Jesus answered them, "Many good works have I shown you from My Father. For which of those works do ye stone Me?" NIV 32 but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?" TMB 33 The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy and because thou, being a man, makest thyself God." NIV 33 "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God." TMB 34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, `I said "Ye are gods"'? NIV 34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods' ? TMB 35 If He called them gods unto whom the Word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), NIV 35 If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came--and the Scripture cannot be broken-- TMB 36 do ye say of Him whom the Father hath sanctified and sent into the world, `Thou blasphemest,' because I said, `I am the Son of God'? NIV 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'? TMB 37 If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not. NIV 37 Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. TMB 38 But if I do, though ye believe not Me, believe the works, that ye may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him." NIV 38 But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." TMB 39 Therefore they sought again to take Him, but He escaped out of their hand, NIV 39 Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp. TMB 40 and went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John had first baptized; and there He abode. NIV 40 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. Here he stayed TMB 41 And many resorted unto Him and said that John did no miracle, but all things that John spoke of this Man were true. NIV 41 and many people came to him. They said, "Though John never performed a miraculous sign, all that John said about this man was true." TMB 42 And many believed in Him there. NIV 42 And in that place many believed in Jesus.
