John 12:37-50

NAS 37 But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him. NIV 37 Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him. NAS 38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: "LORD , WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE LORD BEEN REVEALED?" NIV 38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" NAS 39 For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, NIV 39 For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere: NAS 40 "HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM" NIV 40 "He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn--and I would heal them." NAS 41 These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him. NIV 41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus' glory and spoke about him. NAS 42 Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; NIV 42 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; NAS 43 for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God. NIV 43 for they loved praise from men more than praise from God. NAS 44 And Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. NIV 44 Then Jesus cried out, "When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. NAS 45 "He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. NIV 45 When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. NAS 46 "I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. NIV 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. NAS 47 "If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. NIV 47 "As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. NAS 48 "He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. NIV 48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. NAS 49 "For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. NIV 49 For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. NAS 50 "I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me." NIV 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say."
