NIV 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- NLT 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. NLT 18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. NIV 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. NLT 19 Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. NIV 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. NLT 20 When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. NIV 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. NLT 21 Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” NIV 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him." NLT 22 Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, “Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?” NIV 22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?" NLT 23 Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. NIV 23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. NLT 24 Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. NIV 24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. NLT 25 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. NIV 25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. NLT 26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. NIV 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
