RSV 12 After this he went down to Caper'na-um, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples; and there they stayed for a few days. NIV 12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days. RSV 13 The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. NIV 13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. RSV 14 In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business. NIV 14 In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. RSV 15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. NIV 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. RSV 16 And he told those who sold the pigeons, "Take these things away; you shall not make my Father's house a house of trade." NIV 16 To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!" RSV 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for thy house will consume me." NIV 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me." RSV 18 The Jews then said to him, "What sign have you to show us for doing this?" NIV 18 Then the Jews demanded of him, "What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?" RSV 19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." NIV 19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days." RSV 20 The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?" NIV 20 The Jews replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?" RSV 21 But he spoke of the temple of his body. NIV 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body. RSV 22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. NIV 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. RSV 23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs which he did; NIV 23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name. RSV 24 but Jesus did not trust himself to them, NIV 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men. RSV 25 because he knew all men and needed no one to bear witness of man; for he himself knew what was in man. NIV 25 He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.
