Joshua 19

HNV 1 The second lot came out for Shim`on, even for the tribe of the children of Shim`on according to their families: and their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Yehudah. NIV 1 The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon, clan by clan. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah. HNV 2 They had for their inheritance Be'er-Sheva, or Sheva, and Moladah, NIV 2 It included: Beersheba (or Sheba), Moladah, HNV 3 and Hatzar-Shu`al, and Balah, and `Etzem, NIV 3 Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem, HNV 4 and Eltolad, and Beitul, and Hormah, NIV 4 Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah, HNV 5 and Tziklag, and Beit-Markavot, and Hatzar-Susah, NIV 5 Ziklag, Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susah, HNV 6 and Beit-Leva'ot, and Sharuchen; thirteen cities with their villages: NIV 6 Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen--thirteen towns and their villages; HNV 7 `Ayin, Rimmon, and `Eter, and `Ashan; four cities with their villages: NIV 7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan--four towns and their villages-- HNV 8 and all the villages that were round about these cities to Ba`alat-Be'er, Ramah of the South. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Shim`on according to their families. NIV 8 and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, clan by clan. HNV 9 Out of the part of the children of Yehudah was the inheritance of the children of Shim`on; for the portion of the children of Yehudah was too much for them: therefore the children of Shim`on had inheritance in the midst of their inheritance. NIV 9 The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah's portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah. HNV 10 The third lot came up for the children of Zevulun according to their families; and the border of their inheritance was to Sarid; NIV 10 The third lot came up for Zebulun, clan by clan: The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid. HNV 11 and their border went up westward, even to Mar`alah, and reached to Dabbeshet; and it reached to the brook that is before Yokne`am; NIV 11 Going west it ran to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and extended to the ravine near Jokneam. HNV 12 and it turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrise to the border of Kislot-Tavor; and it went out to Daverat, and went up to Yafia; NIV 12 It turned east from Sarid toward the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia. HNV 13 and from there it passed along eastward to Gat-Hefer, to `Et-Katzin; and it went out at Rimmon which stretches to Ne`ah; NIV 13 Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon and turned toward Neah. HNV 14 and the border turned about it on the north to Hannaton; and the goings out of it were at the valley of Yiftach-El; NIV 14 There the boundary went around on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El. HNV 15 and Kattat, and Nahalal, and Shimron, and Yid'alah, and Beit-Lechem: twelve cities with their villages. NIV 15 Included were Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem. There were twelve towns and their villages. HNV 16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zevulun according to their families, these cities with their villages. NIV 16 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, clan by clan. HNV 17 The fourth lot came out for Yissakhar, even for the children of Yissakhar according to their families. NIV 17 The fourth lot came out for Issachar, clan by clan. HNV 18 Their border was to Yizre`el, and Kesullot, and Shunem, NIV 18 Their territory included: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem, HNV 19 and Hafarayim, and Shi'on, and Anacharat, NIV 19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath, HNV 20 and Rabbit, and Kishyon, and Evetz, NIV 20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, HNV 21 and Remet, and En-Gannim, and `En-Haddah, and Beit-Patztzetz, NIV 21 Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez. HNV 22 and the border reached to Tavor, and Shachatzmah, and Beit-Shemesh; and the goings out of their border were at the Yarden: sixteen cities with their villages. NIV 22 The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen towns and their villages. HNV 23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Yissakhar according to their families, the cities with their villages. NIV 23 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, clan by clan. HNV 24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families. NIV 24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher, clan by clan. HNV 25 Their border was Helkat, and Hali, and Beten, and Akhshaf, NIV 25 Their territory included: Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph, HNV 26 and Allammelekh, and `Am`ad, and Mish'al; and it reached to Karmel westward, and to Shichor-Livnat; NIV 26 Allammelech, Amad and Mishal. On the west the boundary touched Carmel and Shihor Libnath. HNV 27 and it turned toward the sunrise to Beit-Dagon, and reached to Zevulun, and to the valley of Yiftach-El northward to Beit-Ha`emek and Ne`i'el; and it went out to Kavul on the left hand, NIV 27 It then turned east toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El, and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Cabul on the left. HNV 28 and `Evron, and Rechov, and Hammon, and Kanah, even to great Tzidon; NIV 28 It went to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon. HNV 29 and the border turned to Ramah, and to the fortified city of Tzor; and the border turned to Hosah; and the goings out of it were at the sea by the region of Akhziv; NIV 29 The boundary then turned back toward Ramah and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah and came out at the sea in the region of Aczib, HNV 30 `Ummah also, and Afek, and Rechov: twenty-two cities with their villages. NIV 30 Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two towns and their villages. HNV 31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages. NIV 31 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, clan by clan. HNV 32 The sixth lot came out for the children of Naftali, even for the children of Naftali according to their families. NIV 32 The sixth lot came out for Naphtali, clan by clan: HNV 33 Their border was from Helef, from the oak in Tza`anannim, and Adami-Nekev, and Yavne'el, to Lakkum; and the goings out of it were at the Yarden; NIV 33 Their boundary went from Heleph and the large tree in Zaanannim, passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan. HNV 34 and the border turned westward to Aznot-Tavor, and went out from there to Hukok; and it reached to Zevulun on the south, and reached to Asher on the west, and to Yehudah at the Yarden toward the sunrise. NIV 34 The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. It touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west and the Jordan on the east. HNV 35 The fortified cities were Tziddim, Tzer, and Hammat, Rakkat, and Kinneret, NIV 35 The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth, HNV 36 and Adamah, and Ramah, and Hatzor, NIV 36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, HNV 37 and Kedesh, and Edre`i, and `En-Hatzor, NIV 37 Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor, HNV 38 Yir`on, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beit-`Anat, and Beit-Shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. NIV 38 Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath and Beth Shemesh. There were nineteen towns and their villages. HNV 39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naftali according to their families, the cities with their villages. NIV 39 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, clan by clan. HNV 40 The seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. NIV 40 The seventh lot came out for the tribe of Dan, clan by clan. HNV 41 The border of their inheritance was Tzor`ah, and Eshta'ol, and `Ir-Shamesh, NIV 41 The territory of their inheritance included: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, HNV 42 and Sha`alabbin, and Ayalon, and Yitlah, NIV 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, HNV 43 and Elon, and Timnata, and `Ekron, NIV 43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron, HNV 44 and Eltekeh, and Gibbeton, and Ba`alat, NIV 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, HNV 45 and Yehud, and Bene-berak, and Gat-Rimmon, NIV 45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, HNV 46 and Meyarkon, and Rakkon, with the border over against Yafo. NIV 46 Me Jarkon and Rakkon, with the area facing Joppa. HNV 47 The border of the children of Dan went out beyond them; for the children of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and lived therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. NIV 47 (But the Danites had difficulty taking possession of their territory, so they went up and attacked Leshem, took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named it Dan after their forefather.) HNV 48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages. NIV 48 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, clan by clan. HNV 49 So they made an end of distributing the land for inheritance by the borders of it; and the children of Yisra'el gave an inheritance to Yehoshua the son of Nun in the midst of them: NIV 49 When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them, HNV 50 according to the mitzvah of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnat-Serach in the hill-country of Efrayim; and he built the city, and lived therein. NIV 50 as the LORD had commanded. They gave him the town he asked for--Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. And he built up the town and settled there. HNV 51 These are the inheritances, which El`azar the Kohen, and Yehoshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers' [houses] of the tribes of the children of Yisra'el, distributed for inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tent of meeting. So they made an end of dividing the land. NIV 51 These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh in the presence of the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. And so they finished dividing the land.
